Google News in Hebrew

March 8, 2006 · 3 Comments

via the Google Blog comes the announcement that Google News Israel is now available. Not that I can read a word of it (I still desperately need the vowels added like a preschooler) but its cool to see it there.

And now I know how to spell Google in Hebrew — gimmel-vav-gimmel-lamed (i think)

Well, you were right. Google spells גוגל in Hebrew.
However, did you know that they’re already threatened by lawsuite from another major Israeli portal called “Walla” (וואלה ;) which claims that their copyrights has benn violated?

There is? :) That’s so cool.
Actually, Google News Israel’s star isn’t shining so bright. There are very few respectable news sources in Hebrew (about 4 or five major news corporations), so there isn’t really a need for an aggregator. Not much to aggregate. *g*

    Pardon any spelling mistakes ;)
